Description

Begin your tour at St. Peter's Castle, also known as Crusader Castle, which most visitors see first when arriving by land or sea. The castle houses Turkey's Museum of Underwater Archaeology, featuring treasures excavated from Turkish waters.

During the tour, you will visit key historical sites such as the Myndos Gate, the Roman Amphitheater, and other relics from Bodrum’s ancient past.

The Museum of Underwater Archaeology contains the world's oldest known shipwrecks. Exhibits include the Glass Wreck Hall, late Bronze Age shipwrecks, the Carian Princess Hall, and amphoras once used to transport olive oil and wine.

You will then visit the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, built in 355 B.C. by Artemisia, wife and sister of King Mausolos. This structure is one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World.

Other sites covered include Bodrum’s historical stone windmills near the harbor, in use from the 18th century until the 1970s, and the Myndos Gate, the sole surviving entrance to ancient Halicarnassus.

The tour concludes at the Ancient Theater of Halicarnassus, dating to the 4th century B.C. If time allows, you will have the opportunity to shop before returning.
